Our Story
About Tour Tac
I’ve been fishing for as long as I can remember — from farm ponds to local lakes, and eventually local derbies at a young age. Even early on, I noticed something: most anglers were throwing the same styles and the same color patterns. There wasn’t much variety.
So I started experimenting.
At first, it was simple — adding color with a marker or trimming parts of a bait to change its profile without affecting its action. Other times, I was cutting baits in half or splitting tails to create something different. The goal was always the same: present a look the fish hadn’t seen before and generate more bites.
As I moved into my mid-to-late teens, I became more serious about fishing. I entered tournaments and began building my own baits using whatever I could get my hands on — molds I found in magazines, different blades, spinners, and components pieced together to create something unique.
Then life took priority. Family and responsibility came first, and competitive fishing had to take a back seat.
Years later, while working as an arborist, everything changed. A catastrophic equipment malfunction caused a 65-foot fall. I suffered devastating injuries from my feet to my neck and underwent more than 20 surgeries to save my limbs. Recovery — physically and financially — took nearly two decades.
But the passion never left.
In my 40s, I made the decision to return to competitive fishing. I began entering larger-scale events like the Bassmaster Opens and now compete in Major League Fishing (MLF) Toyota Series tournaments.
And here’s what I realized:
There may be thousands of baits on the market today, but most companies still rely on the same 7–10 standard color combinations. It’s hard to stand apart when everyone is presenting the same thing.
That’s why Tour-Tac.com was founded.
Tour Tac exists to provide anglers with unique color combinations and custom designs that simply aren’t available anywhere else. We build baits that help fishermen present something different — something fish haven’t seen a hundred times before.
Because sometimes, the difference between a good day and a winning day is showing them something new.
What We Offer
All of our colors are mixed and developed in-house, in the USA, making them truly unique and unavailable anywhere else. This gives anglers a one-of-a-kind presentation that stands apart from the standard color patterns found throughout the industry.
We are also developing proprietary CNC molds to create custom bait profiles designed exclusively for Tour Tac. These molds allow us to produce shapes and actions that you won’t find anywhere else — giving you another competitive edge on the water.
Every product is field-tested by a dedicated team of anglers who compete at both local and national tournament levels. Our baits have proven successful across the country, including on some of the most heavily pressured fisheries. They aren’t just designed to look different — they’re built to perform.
